Description

Kanti Gandi, 76, is the owner of a successful global chemical coatings company. The interview includes discussion of the fact that he among the earliest members of the Indian community in the United States, having arrived in 1964. He discusses his early family life and deciding to come to the US for a master’s degree in Chemistry. After joining a company that makes coatings for pots and pans, Kanti eventually started his own and spent most of life working long hours. He discusses now enjoying retirement with his wife in their apartment in the John Hancock Building in downtown Chicago.
