Description
Dial Gidwani, 80, is a community educator, author, and retired airline security professional. The interview includes discussion of his multi-pronged efforts to teach Americans about the tradition of nonviolence which stems from India. He founded the American Institute of Sindhuology in Chicago after working for Air India for 30 years. He discusses his father’s connection with the independence movement in the 1930s and his early memories of the partition of India. Throughout the interview, Dial makes clear that he is motivated to help others, especially the poor and young people.
